Checkpoint CloudGuard Engineer (WAF / API Security)

About the role

We’re looking for an engineer with hands-on Checkpoint CloudGuard experience to join our team on a project basis. We’re implementing and maintaining an API Security platform for one of the largest banks in Poland. We need someone to take operational ownership of the solution.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Checkpoint CloudGuard (WAF, AppSec, API Security)
• Maintain production environments with 24/7 SLA
• Manage security policies and WAF rules
• Integrate CloudGuard with CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
• Collaborate with the client’s security, DevOps, and SOC teams
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures

Requirements

• Experience deploying or administering Checkpoint CloudGuard (WAF, AppSec, API Security)
• Knowledge of CloudGuard architecture — security policies, CI/CD integration, rule management
• Experience maintaining production environments with SLA
• Ability to work independently on projects
• Good command of English

Nice to have

• Checkpoint certifications (CCSA, CCSE, CloudGuard Specialist)
• Experience with F5 Big-IP
• Experience with other WAF solutions (Imperva, Fortinet, AWS WAF)
• Knowledge of API Gateway and API security (OWASP API Security Top 10)
• Experience in the financial sector (banking, fintech)
