AdRem Software

AdRem Software

AdRem Software is a Polish technology company that has specialized in developing software for monitoring and managing IT networks for more than two decades. Their flagship product, NetCrunch, was developed in response to the growing complexity of IT infrastructure and the need for a single, consistent tool instead of multiple distributed systems. AdRem Software’s mission is to provide administrators with a powerful yet intuitive platform that automates day-to-day operations, provides full visibility and allows them to proactively resolve issues before they impact the business. As a product developed from A to Z in Krakow, Poland, NetCrunch combines world-class quality with a keen understanding of local realities.

The main pillars of the product offering

The NetCrunch platform is a comprehensive all-in-one system that performs all key network monitoring and management tasks from a single, central console.

  • Full visibility and topology mapping: NetCrunch automatically discovers all devices on the network and creates dynamic, interactive physical topology (Layer 2) maps in real time. It allows you to build custom dashboards and graphical views that clearly show the status of the entire infrastructure, from individual services to complex dependencies between systems.
  • Comprehensive agentless monitoring: This is the foundation of the platform, which allows you to monitor virtually any element of your company’s infrastructure without installing additional software on the devices. NetCrunch oversees servers (Windows, Linux), applications, virtual machines, network devices (switches, routers), and analyzes network traffic (NetFlow/sFlow), logs (Syslog) and SNMP traps.
  • Smart alerts and response automation: NetCrunch’s strength is its advanced alerting system, which correlates incidents and eliminates “information noise” by reporting only real problems. The platform allows you to create advanced rules and policies that automate responses to incidents – from sending an alert (SMS, email, MS Teams) to automatically executing a remediation script (e.g., restarting a service).

Development and innovation in the portfolio

From the beginning, AdRem Software followed the philosophy of creating a single, complete tool that would give administrators full control without unnecessary complexity. A key architectural decision was to base the NetCrunch platform on an agentless model. This approach drastically reduces deployment time, simplifies management and does not burden monitored systems, which is a huge advantage over competing solutions.

NetCrunch’s innovation is evident in the ongoing development of automatic device discovery and profiling mechanisms, allowing monitoring to instantly cover newly connected network elements. The development also focuses on policy-based monitoring, whereby once defined rules are automatically applied to appropriate groups of devices, saving administrators hundreds of hours of work. All of the software is developed in the Krakow R&D center, which guarantees full control over the quality of the code and its dynamic development in response to changing market needs.

License levels and components

NetCrunch’s licensing model is simple, flexible and designed for cost transparency and easy scaling.

  • Node-based licensing: The cost of a license is based on the number of monitored nodes (nodes), i.e., any end devices that have an IP address (e.g., workstation, server, printer, camera). Such a model is much simpler and more predictable than complex licensing based on the number of sensors or metrics.
  • Interface packages included in the price: Each node license by default includes a license to monitor one network interface (e.g., a port on a switch). Additional interface packages are only required if the number of monitored ports exceeds the number of nodes, which is very cost-effective in most scenarios.
  • Different editions and purchase models: the software is available in several editions (e.g., Essentials, Professional, Enterprise), which vary in the level of functionality, allowing you to tailor the solution to your needs and budget. Customers can choose a subscription (annual) model or a perpetual license.
  • On-premise installation: NetCrunch is an on-premise solution installed on the customer’s infrastructure, which provides full control over the data and security of the entire monitoring system.
