Why do you need endpoint protection?
The workstation is where most cybersecurity incidents actually start, because it is where a person meets an attachment. A protection platform is therefore chosen on the basis of how it behaves with the unknown — signatures only cover what has already been seen somewhere else.
Ransomware almost always enters through an endpoint, because that is where a person opens the file — not through a gap at the network edge. Traditional signature-based antivirus solutions can’t keep up with new threats - you need multi-layered protection combining prevention, detection and automatic remediation.
Bitdefender GravityZone Business Security is an endpoint protection platform that protects desktops, laptops and servers against ransomware, phishing, network attacks and exploits - all from a single management console.
How does it work?
Multi-layered prevention
Instead of relying on a single technology, GravityZone combines multiple protection layers:
- Machine learning operating before and during file execution
- Real-time behavioral analysis of processes
- Anti-exploit and process inspection
- Automatic quarantine and change rollback
Network Attack Defense
Network-level protection blocks threats before they reach applications:
- Brute force attack detection
- Port scanning blocking
- Password theft protection
- Lateral movement prevention
Risk Analytics
Proactive identification of configuration weaknesses:
- Risky user behavior analysis
- Vulnerable OS configuration detection
- Outdated software identification
- Per-endpoint risk scoring
Key features
Threat protection
- Anti-malware with machine learning
- Ransomware mitigation with file backup
- Anti-phishing and web filtering
- Host-level firewall
- Device control (USB, Bluetooth)
Management and visibility
- Centralized console (cloud or on-prem)
- Dashboard with visibility across all endpoints
- Security policies per group/location
- Real-time reporting and alerts
Supported platforms
Operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux

- Distributed organizations - centralized management across multiple locations
How does GravityZone Business Security support NIS2 and the KSC Act?
The base Business Security bundle delivers technical controls supporting selected requirements of Article 21 of NIS2 and Article 8 of the Polish National Cybersecurity System Act (KSC Act) - four of the twelve areas whose full mapping we describe in our article on how GravityZone supports NIS2 and the KSC Act:
- Vulnerability and patch management - Endpoint Risk Analytics flags vulnerable OS configurations and outdated software with a per-endpoint risk score; the Patch Management add-on lets you schedule and roll out updates from the same console.
- Cyber resilience and ransomware impact reduction - Ransomware Prevention detects encryption attempts, stops the process and automatically restores files from a copy taken before the attack.
- Cyber hygiene and attack surface reduction - Network Attack Defense blocks brute force, port scanning and lateral movement; Web Access Control and the host firewall close channels you do not need.
- Data confidentiality, encryption and system integrity - Device Control decides which USB and Bluetooth devices may connect to a workstation, and the Full Disk Encryption add-on encrypts data at rest; events from both feed the console’s reports.
Which of these areas is your gap is what we establish in the NIS2 Readiness Check service.
Who is in scope, deadlines and penalties are covered in our NIS2 knowledge hub. GravityZone does not replace an ISMS, formal risk management, audits or the organization’s own accountability for NIS2 and KSC Act obligations - it supports their technical side.
