Vectra AI, a leader in hybrid cloud threat detection and response, powered by advanced artificial intelligence technologies, recently announced the integration of Vectra Cloud Detection and Response with Amazon Security Lake – a service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Thanks to this integration, Vectra’s capabilities are significantly expanded, resulting in better protection of AWS environments.
Amazon Security Lake enables customers to build a security data lake based on integrated cloud and on-premises data sources, as well as from private applications. With support for the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF) standard, Amazon Security Lake reduces complexity and costs for customers, allowing them to access data from their security solutions.
Understanding Customer Challenges
Vectra notes that a key challenge for many customers is the “more” problem: more attacks, more methods, more rules, and more tools. The answer to this challenge is not more, but better – simpler and better-integrated solutions. What customers need most is the highest quality attack signal intelligence that will allow for detecting and responding to cyberattacks in real time.

A Simpler World Through Integration
Integrating Vectra’s attack signal intelligence with open-source OCSF messaging to Amazon Security Lake provides customers with a consolidated and simplified approach to threat detection, tracking, and response. This allows customers to quickly add the Vectra solution and see immediate added value.
After launching the installation process that monitors the environment for malicious activity, security results are immediately returned to Amazon Security Lake so they can be investigated and responded to appropriately.
Why OCSF?
OCSF is a robust, scalable framework for communicating any security data. The uniqueness of Vectra’s attack signal intelligence lies in the fact that using AI technology, it often attributes malicious activity occurring on one AWS account to an actor in a completely different AWS account, region, or even back through single sign-on via an identity provider. This attribution technology is key for analysts to accurately understand what the expected behavior of each actor should be.
Vectra AI is a leading provider of intelligent network detection and response solutions for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Vectra AI operates across the entire on-premises and cloud network (IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS), using purposely built, patented machine learning and AI algorithms that cover the vast majority of MITRE ATT&CK network techniques.
Emphasizing the importance of cloud topics, Vectra’s integration with Amazon Security Lake represents a significant step forward in cloud security. By focusing on increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day operations, as well as simplifying processes and complexity, this integration offers customers the ability to better manage their cloud environment and increase their security level.
