What's New in baramundi Management Suite 2024 R2

Discover new features in baramundi Management Suite 2024 R2 that improve IT management and automation in companies.

baramundi Management Suite (bMS) is a comprehensive IT infrastructure management solution that constantly evolves to meet the growing demands of modern organizations. The latest version 2024 R2, planned for November 2024, introduces a number of significant improvements and new features that significantly expand endpoint management capabilities.

How Has the User Interface Changed?

One of the key changes in bMS 2024 R2 is a refreshed user interface, both for administrators and end users. The new design is consistent with the Argus UI interface, ensuring a uniform experience throughout the system. baramundi Management Center (bMC) has received a modern look that improves work ergonomics. A refreshed appearance of the baramundi Management Agent (bMA) and its notifications has also been introduced, which translates into better interaction with end users.

The new, customizable dashboard with widgets allows every bMS user to customize the overview to individual preferences and requirements. Administrators can now select widgets to display criteria for various Universal Dynamic Groups (UDGs), key endpoint metrics, task execution status, and other important system indicators.

What New Features Have Been Introduced for Device Management?

bMS 2024 R2 introduces a new baramundi Linux Devices (bLD) module that enables management of Linux devices alongside existing Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS platforms. This module offers improved device registration capabilities and more update options using package managers. This is a significant expansion of functionality that allows for effective management of a heterogeneous IT environment.

In terms of update management, the “Distribute Microsoft Feature Updates” option has been introduced in the Manage Microsoft Update task step. This enables more efficient deployment of Windows 11 feature updates, offering a faster and less invasive alternative to full in-place upgrades.

How Have Security and Compliance Aspects Been Improved?

To increase security, bMS 2024 R2 introduces multi-factor authentication (MFA) for administrator login to bMC. This is an additional layer of protection that significantly raises the system’s security level.

Additionally, the new version enables co-management with Microsoft Intune, allowing you to leverage the best features of both systems. This enables flexible management of Windows 10 or newer devices using the tools most appropriate for the given scenario.

What Improvements Have Been Made in Monitoring and Analysis?

Argus Experience expands transparency at all levels, from hardware and application software to blue screen detection. This enables faster detection, analysis, and proactive resolution of endpoint performance and reliability issues. New CPU and memory views allow for better matching of devices to expected workloads, which contributes to cost optimization and increased work productivity.

What Changes Have Been Made in Automation and Scripts?

In bMS 2024 R2, new variables for script execution and server-side actions have been introduced, and an option for hidden execution of embedded scripts has been added. Additionally, the BMWCMD.exe tool has been introduced for automating bootable media creation, which significantly streamlines the system preparation process.

bMS 2024 R2 takes into account the latest legal requirements for personal data protection and information security, including GDPR and sector-specific regulations applicable in the European Union and Poland. The system offers tools for permissions management, data access auditing, and reporting, which makes it easier for organizations to meet compliance requirements.
