Why do small businesses need endpoint protection?
A small company buys cybersecurity under a constraint a large one does not have: whatever is deployed has to run without anyone watching it. That constraint, not the size of the licence, is what should decide the product.
Small companies are attacked not because they are valuable, but because they are cheap to attack. Lacking a dedicated IT team doesn’t mean your company is safe - attackers specifically target organizations without advanced defenses.
GravityZone Small Business Security is a solution designed specifically for small businesses - easy to manage, effective in protection, and requiring no cybersecurity expertise. Enterprise-grade protection in an accessible package.
How does it work?

How does GravityZone Small Business Security support NIS2 and the KSC Act?
Small Business Security is built for companies without an IT department, so its contribution to Article 21 of NIS2 and Article 8 of the Polish National Cybersecurity System Act (KSC Act) is deliberately narrow - three of the twelve areas whose full mapping we describe in our article on how GravityZone supports NIS2 and the KSC Act:
- Cyber resilience and ransomware impact reduction - Ransomware Mitigation detects an encryption attempt in real time, backs up the threatened files and restores them once the attack is blocked - with no administrator involved.
- Cyber hygiene and attack surface reduction - Fileless Attack Protection and Advanced Anti-Exploit cut off in-memory scripts and exploitation of application vulnerabilities; Network Attack Defense and Device Control are available as add-ons.
- Secure email and electronic communication - endpoint anti-phishing blocks credential-harvesting pages after a link is clicked; this is phishing detection on the endpoint, not protection of the mail server itself.
Whether that is enough for your organization is what we establish in the NIS2 Readiness Check service.
Who is in scope, deadlines and penalties are covered in our NIS2 knowledge hub. GravityZone does not replace an ISMS, formal risk management, audits or the organization’s own accountability for NIS2 and KSC Act obligations - it supports their technical side.
When is GravityZone Small Business Security enough for a company with a small IT team?
Small Business Security is preventive workstation protection: anti-malware, anti-exploit, fileless attack defence, Ransomware Mitigation, anti-phishing and a host firewall. The vendor scopes the package for environments of 1 to 100 devices (laptops, desktops, file servers) and designs it so that installation and day-to-day management need no security expertise. It fits best where IT means one or two people looking after users, servers and the network at the same time.
A company without a dedicated security team
The product makes most of the decisions itself. Fileless attack defence is enabled by default, and when a threat is detected the agent terminates the process, quarantines the file and rolls back malicious changes. Ransomware Mitigation detects abnormal encryption attempts and restores files from backup copies. The Executive Summary report gives a concise overview of the state of all protected devices that can be presented to management without translating technical detail.
Several locations and remote work
The console needs no server of its own, so devices in the head office, in a branch and with remote employees are managed from one place. Protection runs on the device itself rather than on a gateway at headquarters: anti-phishing blocks credential-harvesting pages, web threat protection stops malicious downloads, and the host firewall warns when new devices join a Wi-Fi network.
When it is not enough
- The device count grows beyond the package scope - according to the vendor, the GravityZone platform is modular and lets you add devices and add-ons and move up to a higher package.
- You need to investigate incidents that got past prevention - in the vendor’s own description that is the job of EDR, which collects data from all workstations and correlates events; the Small Business Security datasheet lists prevention layers, not EDR.
- Nobody watches the alerts after hours - at that point the tool needs a team that assesses the event and responds to the incident.
In all three situations the next step is a managed service in which the nFlo team takes care of policies and alerts.
Why deploy with nFlo?
- We help select the right protection plan for your business size
- We handle installation and configuration across all devices
- We monitor alerts and respond to incidents through our SOC services
- We advise on expanding protection as your business grows
When workstation protection has to work together with a team that analyses alerts and responds to incidents, see the Managed EDR/XDR service; start a conversation about your environment via contact, and read about nFlo’s cooperation with the vendor on the Bitdefender page.
